How We Work: Accendo Goes Agile

Here’s a closer look at how Agile allowed Accendo to work smarter, better, and faster together to produce quality results.

Press release: Kuala Lumpur, August 31, 2022: Accendo Technologies, the only Asia-based talent intelligence platform, outlined its adoption of Agile to leverage the strengths of TalentPulse and its talent solutions to accelerate value creation for clients and partners. The aim of the adoption was to assist with business agility, change management, and adaptability to changes with minimal friction.

Accendo is always finding new ways to work. Agile, a method for software development is quickly gaining traction, in particular, a version called scrum. Many teams in tech and R&D have embraced the method and the company is no exception. But why has Accendo adopted Agile as a way to work?

The Agile adoption is led by Thomas Lozza, an experienced product leader, software engineer, and Accendo’s Chief Product Evangelist, to lead its Agile adoption – through the engineering, project management, and design teams.

As a result, a go-forward plan was developed, which began with the establishment of a scrum framework, followed by new processes with an emphasis on team’s learning while adapting the processes in the way work is done and created a learning organisation.

The adoption aimed to bring benefits to Accendo’s clients and partners, including:

  • Shorter delivery time: Agile delivery allows Accendo’s teams to take iterative, incremental, and lean approaches to streamline and accelerate the delivery of projects.
  • Customer-strong focus: This allows our teams to build the right solutions at the right time to produce better quality results, which is critical for success.
  • A better understanding of a client’s need: Agile projects regularly involve the clients, from the start (for requirements) to the end (for acceptance), which helps to mitigate inconsistencies that crop up along the way.
  • Cross-functional and interdepartmental collaboration: Cross-functional, agile teams can build better products and deliver an exceptional experience that touches every point of the client’s journey.
  • Team empowerment: Agile enables our teams to self-organise when co-creating an empowered, innovative, and client-centric culture, choosing how best to accomplish their projects and deliver excellent results.
