Accendo Hosts Talent Intelligence Roundtable With People Matters

Here is a cursory look at some of the key takeaways from the Roundtable Malaysia Edition, an exclusive closed-door discussion among the top industry experts.

Press Release: Kuala Lumpur, 28th July 2022: Accendo Technologies, the only Asia-based talent intelligence platform and leading provider of talent management, assessments, and career pathing solutions, curated a closed-door roundtable discussion, Malaysia edition, in association with People Matters.

Top industry experts were invited to participate in the roundtable discussion to explore and discuss the topic of the best ways to be intelligent about talent. The discussion included insightful conversations on the best practices, leadership insights, and tips on leveraging the knowledge of the workforce to meet the organisation’s needs.

The roundtable discussion – hosted by Shruti Singh from People Matters and moderated by Haikal M. Z. Akmar, General Manager of Group Human Resources from UOA Group – opened with an introduction into what has been happening in the workforce industry over the last two to three years, and where organisations find themselves today. Accelerated digitalisation has influenced the workplaces and led to a talent shortage, leading to a deep dive into data and analytics by HR teams in hopes of understanding the importance of talent intelligence and its impact when approaching strategic discussions with business leaders on talent strategy.

The event followed up with some expert views of the participants. According to Sugunah Verumandy (Country Head HR for HSBC Bank), “it doesn’t matter which generation we come from, we have the same needs when we join an organisation and that is a job with a purpose and a meaning in life.Naddia Azizis (Head Human Capital BP, Celcom Axiata Berhad) agreed as “loyalty is defined as the 150% that goes into the work that is done, not the hours clocked in on the job, so the question remains is how do organisations ensure that their employees feel engaged and valued?Salika Suksuwan (Head HR, PwC) believed that “while we cannot stop talent from leaving, we can, however, encourage employees to stay by showing that we care about them, and if employees know that we care about them, we can encourage boomerang talent.

2020 and 2021 were challenging times for all HR leaders in any organisation; times that we simply could not have imagined in the years before. During the pandemic, companies scrambled to develop strategies and implement programs to ensure that employees could continue to be engaged and productive while working remotely. This year, 2022, and the years after, will be no different.
